We were lucky enough to catch the final day of Hawaii’s Aloha Festival, an annual event (which started as “Aloha Week” in 1946!) where Hawaiians from all the islands in the state come together and celebrate their culture and heritage. The event culminates in a big floral float parade, with special guests including local politicians, then selected “Royal court”, marching bands, and more. I loved that all of the islands were represented in the parade. It was great to catch this in person! Here are some photos from this fun event:

And some videos. Once a marching band parent, always a marching band appreciator!
After the parade we had brunch at this cute little Heavenly Island Cafe, where Rob had an eggs Benedict that had lilikoi butter in the hollidaise sauce that was soooo good, and I had a yummy açaí bowl.

The rest of our day was just errands. We are trying to make sure we have everything we need before we set sail for Australia this Thursday! Although we tried to hard to pack carefully and conscientiously, we have already found a few things we wish we’d brought, and a few things we wish we hadn’t, so we did some replacing of items today and stocking up on a few things we probably can’t get at sea and/or in Australia. Here are a few random final photos from our day. We didn’t take many after the parade. Thanks for reading!
