We are at sea again, sailing through the South Pacific toward our next port of call: Tauranga, New Zealand. I initially wondered if having so many days at sea (13 of 19 full days) was going to be problematic for us, or if weβd feel bored or stir crazy as some people do on long cruises. At this point, I can definitively say βNo!β Celebrity has done an excellent job of keeping us fully entertained this cruise, and as busy as we care to be.
Weβve been on a few Celebity cruises before, which makes us part of the βCaptainβs Clubβ, and makes us eligible for some special events. On this cruise that included a free wine tasting class, which was a ball. We had some very nice wines, and we also sat with the most hilarious international group of fellow cruisers. With Rob as the ringleader, our table started a movement of drinking the (pre-poured) extra glasses of wine for the tables where the people had no-showed for the event. Many laughs were had with our table of non- rule followers.
We saw some great shows over the past few days, and – of course- ate a lot of good food. We exercised some and alternated it with book reading and lazy poolside lounging. The shipβs internet team ran a mid-cruise βupgrade your internetβ special. After a week of using the cheapest internet package and also a nice casino win on slots (not earth shattering, but more than enough to cover the internet cost!), I treated myself to the upgraded internet package, which I am using right now to type this. It is a relief to not have to spend 10-15 minutes per batch to load pictures on here. π¬π And yes, Iβm aware that the fact that I am able to upload pictures and communicate with family and friends from the middle of the South Pacific is pretty dang incredible. First world problems, for sure ππ¬. So the past few sea days have been really, really nice. Tomorrow we cross the international date line, so I will update again later in the week.
