We were awoken at 4:00 am with a driving rain on the hotel roof and it didn’t stop the entire day. It became lighter from time to time and then became a deluge just as often. We planned today to lounge by the pool and soak up the sun – oh well.

Fortunately, we had already booked spa appointments for late morning. So, after breakfast at the hotel – which included these yummy fried rolls (like skinny egg rolls) of banana and chocolate, along with fried rice (?) – we enjoyed a couples massage and facials. I’m not sure I’ve had a facial before, and it was a lot of face touching!! The massage was great and I’m sure my face is glowing now!

The afternoon was forced relaxation, including trying the local beer (kinda like Budweiser), reading, scrolling, and napping. All in all, not a bad afternoon. We were amused by the hotel room door signs for privacy and cleaning – Nope or Help! 😂

For dinner we walked across the street to Cuca – “Since 2013, Michelin-trained Chef Kevin Cherkas and accomplished entrepreneur Virginia Entizne deliver inventive comfort food with fine-dining quality and casual charm.” Quite frankly, this was one of the best meals we’ve had over the past three months. The atmosphere was nice but not stuffy, service was excellent, and the food was amazing. The focus was on small plates for sharing with local ingredients and presenting in fun and unique ways (for an Atlanta comparison, think Georgia Boy). We would recommend this for anyone visiting Bali.

The Balinese people continue to impress us with their warm hospitality and friendliness.
Thanks for adventuring with us.
