Today was our last day in Bali as we prepare for a midnight flight to Dubai. We had not planned much for the day, which turned out fortunate as Bali Belly strikes again . . . next up – Betsy! For those keeping score, that’s Bali Belly 2, LeBeaus 0. Our record is almost as bad as the SEC in this year’s college bowl games!
After the deluge last night, the rain stayed away, making it a very hot and muggy day. Betsy stayed in the villa most of the day. I went to the vegan restaurant at the end of our lane (I actually chose vegan of my own accord – what is happening? Earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… MASS HYSTERIA!).
They heard we were leaving today, so they had a small parade for us . . .
After lunch, I spent some time at our awesome pool reading, sunning, and floating. Then went for a final Balinese massage, this time with hot stones. So yeah, I relaxed hard today.

After packing up again and fitting all our stuff in our tired old bags, our driver for the week picked us up a final time for the trek to the airport. We’ve been warned about big crowds and long lines, so we are getting to the airport almost 4 hours ahead of our flight. We are flying Emirates, which is new for both of us. We’ve heard good things about this airline, so hopefully it will make for a smooth and comfortable 9+ hour overnight flight. Will update again from Dubai!

Thanks for adventuring with us.
